The rumors are true.
I am an inventor.
Yes, my humble self has sailed uncharted waters. I have packed my bags, or in this case my smoothie maker, and am taking the high road to success.
For I have single-handedly discovered the one thing long missing from any recipe collection:
Instant frozen yogurt.
It is sweet, creamy and full of delicious fruit. No sugar needs to be added and it only takes two minutes to make.
Though I can hardly believe it, I always knew I was made for greatness...
I feel like Einstein casually coming up with new formulas and theories. Changing the world one dish at a time...
Except, much to my disappointment, it took me about half a minute on Google to realize that my little mishap turned culinary glory is just about as invetive as a hot dog.
By which I mean not at all.
As it turns out, instant frozen yogurt has been done many many times before.
But, chin up. It is still delicious. And much healthier than ice cream that comes from a box. It is also a first in my home. And since I discovered it by complete accident, I believe I am allowed to be just a tad bit proud.
Also, as many of you probably already know, 4th July is quickly approaching. And this might just be the best time to get out the hot dogs and also give this amazing blueberry and blackberry instant frozen yogurt a go.
Add some whipped cream and red berries and nothing can stop you from celebrating your independence!
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
2-3 Tbsp plain yogurt of your choice
6 Tbsp frozen blueberries and blackberries
2 tsp honey
fresh mint leaves
whipped cream
fresh berries for garnish
In a stand mixer, or using an immersion blender, mix the frozen berries with the yogurt until thick and creamy. Add more frozen berries if needed. Add the honey and fresh mint and pulse briefly. Serve immediately with a dollop of whipped cream and fresh berries.
What will you be having on July Fourth?
Perhaps I'll actually manage to whip up something truly new and inventive just in time for the celebrations...
